The founder of OMX (theomx.com), Nicole Verkindt's online platform helps Government contractors “buy Canadian” by pushing out opportunities to Canadian SMEs, Aboriginal owned businesses and high tech companies across the country. The platform, originally built by TWG, also manages and tracks total job creation and economic impact from large projects, primarily in the defence, aerospace and energy sectors. She is proud of the company's partnership with the Canadian Council of Aboriginal businesses and is passionate about the potential impacts to the economy from these major projects. She is the former CEO of GMA Cover Corp., a supplier of soft-sided shelter components and high tech coatings to Governments around the world, primarily the U.S. military. She also worked in Haiti in the aftermath of the earthquake providing disaster relief and is confident that there are new innovative ways we could approach International aid in Canada. In 2013, she was appointed to the Crown Corporation Board CCC (Canadian Commercial Corporation) which handles Government to Government contracting. She is a frequent commentator on CBC's Exchange, “The Round Up”, and is a “Dragon” on CBC's “Next Gen Dragons Den” focused on early stage technology start ups.
